My Makeup Bag
What's in my makeup bag right now?
With all of the talk about the Fenty foundation I had to go get a bottle and try it out.
I know there are 9 zillion reviews on the line already and I wanted to hear the good, bad and, the ugly before I made my purchases.
Also, I've been so busy with mom crap I forgot that I even knew how to apply foundation lol.
My first impression with the Fenty line was "WTF it's sold out already!".
Then when I got past my irritation of not being able to buy and take home exactly what I wanted, I started to look for my match in foundation.
The Fenty Pro Filt'r foundation to my suprise was bomb. You get 1.08 fl. oz. in the nicely packaged glass bottle. It's a pump so that helps with managing how much product you use.
I honestly wasn't expecting it to be so soft and effective. The foundation is a medium (but buildable to full) coverage that is in fact long lasting. The color that I got was 330 a little lighter then my natural skin complexion but, because I did my research and found out that once the foundation dries it gets a little darker... I'm ok with it. I'm probably going to go and get the color 350 because that was a good match as well. I'm trying to prepare for the winter though and im expecting to lose the tan. I didn't look dry or like I had on a ton of makeup either. I'm definitely here for this one.
Now, when I get the time to doll myself up I do a full face and by 11:30 a.m. I'm doing a touch up. I have the worst combination skin known to man. So, I knew that this was going to be the biggest test .... Will I be shiny by noon?
Because of the primer that I used, I did one blot session at 5:30 p.m. after work, and went on with my night. What product was it? The Becca Ever Matte Pore-less Primer. Now my good friend told me about this one and she mentioned how it was the answer to our problems.. she was right girls! I was so shocked at how I still looked flawless and oil free all day!
I can't stand having to keep checking to see if I look like I could be musty. I only got the sample size due to me just trying this one out. I will be getting the family size (This doesn't exist lol) really soon because this one is the truth.
Ok, for My Glow I've been using the Milani Highlight (from Walmart) in the color SunGlow.. I want you all to know that if I could take a bath in this I would. It's fab and I get compliments on this all the time! I've actually gotten someone to open a checking account due to me being so fine (Blame the makeup lol). You get 0.30 oz of product and it's lasting me.
To hide the bags under my eyes I use the L.A. girl pro concealer... It's cheap and does great. I really want to try a few other brands such as Tarte and Becca but, for now on a mommy budget, I'll stick to what I know. Blending this product is easy and it doesn't dry to quick. You get 0.28 oz. of product in a tube and a little goes a long way. I usually set it with a loose powder by Makeup Forever.
The Makeup Forever HD setting powder is not my favorite.. TOO much flash back in pictures! I think because the powder is white if it's not completely dusted away it makes you look like Casper. I hate when people look like a ghost when they're trying to look sexy. So on my wish list is the Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder. I hear the greatest things from artist who uses this product. In this jar of High Definition Powder you get 0.14 oz of the product. Again I don't like it much so I use very little.
Lastly, my contour kit is from Black Radiance True Complexion Contour Palette. I use the Light to medium shade and it's the best thing for powder contour! You get 0.38 oz. of product in this package and when I tell you it shows up and shows out every time. I got this from Walmart as well and I love how it blends and how it has that warm tone. It isn't ashy at all and it also isn't as dramatic of a look as the cream contouring would give. I like using the powder for everyday looks.
As the seasons change your skin changes. This is what I have so far and I really hope this works for me this fall and winter.
